This moderately strenuous hike takes place in beautiful Skofield Park in Santa Barbara.
The trail goes up a canyon that has a creek with small waterfalls, with lots of oak trees. We will hike to the meadow, which is a total of 4.5 miles round trip, and takes about 2 hours.
Bring a hat, water, and sunscreen. Hiking shoes or boots are recommended.
Directions: From the Santa Barbara Mission, go north on Mission Canyon Road to Foothill Road (route 192). Turn right and go 800 feet to the stop sign. Turn left to continue on Mission Canyon Road. Go .5 miles, staying right at the Y until you get to Las Canoas Road. Take a sharp right on Las Canoas Road. The trailhead is 1.2 miles away, by the bridge. Park where you can, and meet on the bridge.
