Welcome to the Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club
Thank you for your interest in our fabulous club. We love skiers and snowboarders because they are active and energetic people who enjoy the outdoors. We have wonderful trips where we make friends with thirty to seventy other active people. You can read about them on this website and see photos of other past trips. We also have plenty of year round events if you are not a skier.
Our non-profit club began as a skiing club only in 1955, but has evolved to a full summer and winter sports club with a very diverse schedule of skiing, social and sporting events. In addition to our ski trips, we do a couple bike rides a month, kayaking, parties, and happy hours. If you like active and interesting people, you will meet many of them in our club.
Members ski and snowboard at all levels and beginners are welcome. Membership is limited to adults over the age of 21, and costs $50 per year. Sign up and pay online for membership and ski trips. The membership year is from August 1 to July 30, but you can sign up as early as May 1 for the next ski season. You must be a member to sign up for ski trips which open September 1. All payments can be made online with a credit card, or you can sign up online and mail in a check. Click here to become a member.
If you want to preview our events, check out the Event Calendar to see what is happening this month or for the entire year. To keep you up to date, all members will receive the "SkiBlast" email every couple of weeks that highlights events that will take place in the next few weeks. If you are not a member and want to receive the SkiBlast, sign up using the “Add me to your mailing list” button at the top right corner of the Home page.
We also have a Meetup site that will remind you of upcoming events. Join the Ski Club Meetup or just check it out.
If you have questions about membership, contact the Membership Director
Meetings take place once per month from September through April. These are social events where we all come to see our friends and relax with a wine or beer. Most meetings have a theme such as ski fitness demonstrations at local gyms, a ski wear fashion show, auctions where you can bid on donated services, cabaret night where the musicially talented sing their hearts out, and joke night. All meetings are shown with time and location details on our Event Calendar.
