We regret to announce that after careful consideration the SB Ski Club Board has voted to cancel this year's trip to Banff. Two main factors that went into making this decision are that the Canadian border is looking like it will not be open and the accommodations and shuttles to the mountains will put our members into close proximity to too many people.

If you have already signed up and paid for this trip the trip captain will contact you directly about refunds.

Come experience the spectacular winter scenery of the Canadian Rockies. Banff is known for world famous skiing and snowboarding and with the interchangeable tri-area lift ticket that is offered you will have access to all three resorts. You must have a valid passport to participate on this trip!

Trip Overview

There are lots of great ski vacation destinations, but few - if any - can rival the stunning views and scenery of Banff National Park. The three resorts ( Lake Louise , Sunshine Village , Mt. Norquay) boast nearly 8,000 acres of skiing, 2 gondolas, 26 chairlifts and 30 feet of feather-light, dry Canadian Rockies powder annually. The seasoned skier or rider will experience plenty of chutes, bowls, steeps and terrain parks to explore, while beginners can get the same thrills on miles of green and blue runs. And all this in an area so spectacular the United Nations has declared it a World Heritage Site.

The Town
There’s a reason everybody’s heard of Banff. The mountain town's got a lot to love: historic charm, super beautiful natural surroundings, and all the amenities you could ask for. Hit the shops and restaurants on Banff Avenue or check out the thriving arts scene. Enjoy the lively nightlife, take a trip to the Hot Springs, try a Dog Sled ride or Kurling lessons. You can even go full Canadian and try gravy-smothered poutine while wearing your new favorite moose T-shirt.

Lodging

We have reserved 30 Rooms (60 Beds) at the Ptarmigan Inn centrally located in Banff and only a few steps away from the downtown area. Enjoy the complimentary full breakfast each morning and if after a tiring day you don’t want to go out in the evening you can have dinner and drinks in the lounge and restaurant. Relax in the indoor hot tubs, sauna and steam room. Free bus transportation to and from ski areas is available right in front of the Inn.

Travel with the club:

If you purchase your travel through the club you will not need to make any other arrangements.  We have reserved seats on two flights out of Santa Barbara to Calgary where we will be taken by bus for the ~2 Hour ride up to Banff.

Flight choices will be filled on a first come first served basis.

Flight times will most likely be changed by the airlines.
