Trip Details

Dates: Sunday January 3 - Wednesday January 6, 2021
Signup Deadline: November 30, 2020

Price: $270 Double Occupancy, $540 Private

TRIP CANCELLED Due to the Stay at Home Order.   You can carry over your trip to the next Trip in February or March and not lose any of your funds or you can request a refund and a credit card fee of $8.00 will be deducted. Please email Lydonna Walker with your refund/carry over request. 

Trip Overview

The trip includes 3 nights of lodging, and 3 full days to ski Mammoth Mountain, or the nearby Tamarack cross country ski center.

 
Transportation

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not chartering a bus this year.

 

Drive Up Options:

 

* Independently in your own vehicle  - advise trip captain

* Carpooling -  advise the trip captain ASAP:

       * If you would like to be a carpool driver
              * indicate your vehicle type, and number of seatbelts

              * indicate the number of passengers you can transport
                 (not including yourself)

       *If you would like to be a carpool passenger


You may coordinate your own carpool to travel with roommates and/or other skiers that you are comfortable being in close proximity in the car with.  If arranging your own carpool, please advise the trip captain.  The trip captain will help coordinate carpools if contacted with your request and the above information in a timely manner.   All vehicles may caravan or drive separately, as determined by their driver (and passengers, if applicable).  If you do not plan to drive with the group, please advise the trip captain so that everyone can be accounted for. Costs for your ride will be up to the owner of the vehicle.

 

Meet in the Elks Lodge parking lot, located at 150 N. Kellogg Ave, Goleta.

Be prepared to pay $10 to the trip captain if you are leaving a car in the parking lot.

        * 2:30 pm meet at Elks Lodge, and leave the parking lot by 3:00 pm

 

Drivers will stop at the Vons/Carrows parking lot at Seaward Ave to pick up any Ventura area trip members.

 

Please observe hand washing and mask wearing in your carpool.  

Your help as a driver or an organizer of carpooling is greatly appreciated.

 

Return to Santa Barbara: 

Carpooling departs Mammoth Main Lodge parking lot on Wednesday (trips #1 & #2) or Sunday (trip #3) at

4:00 pm for the return trip to Santa Barbara, unless otherwise arranged within your carpool.  Advise trip captain if you are not traveling in the caravan.

 

Lodging

Based on your feedback we will again be staying at the Sierra Nevada Resort located on Old Mammoth Rd, Mammoth Lakes. We have reserved a mix of 3 bedroom Chalets and 2 bed hotel rooms. The Chalets are equipped with full kitchens and fireplace with up to 6 people and the rooms up to 2 people. All rooms are double occupancy unless you wish to pay the premium for a private room.

Trip Parties, Hot Tub & Dining

Due to the pandemic social distancing restrictions, our traditional hot tub parties and other group gatherings are not being planned at this time.  Be prepared to arrange for your own dining, drinking and entertainment.  Shopping, equipment rentals, and dining opportunities are within walking distance of the lodge.  Please observe hand washing and mask wearing in your hotel rooms or chalets when not eating and drinking.

Private Room - 3 nights lodging .........$540

 
Lift tickets are NOT included.
If you plan to ski Mammoth you either need to have an IKON pass or buy tickets in advance on their website. Tickets are on sale now for the season and some dates will likely sell out very fast - buy your tickets now if you want to ski. They will not sell day of tickets at the window. All sales are only online at: www.mammothmountain.com

At this time Mammoth says IKON pass holders do not have to make reservations. IKON Bass Pass holders have 8 friends and family tickets at 25% off Mammoth ticket prices – must call ahead to purchase your tickets. As date draw closer ticket prices will go up in price and sell out. As of today there are still tickets available at Mammoth for the Jan 3 – 6 dates: Senior 65+ tickets for 3 of 5 days are: $423.30 or Adults 23 to 64 are $517.14. As the dates draw nearer the ticket will either sell out or go up in price and yes they will sell out.
Tamarack is offering passes for Seniors at $229 and Adults at $299. Prices go up on November 25th. IKON pass holders can get Tamarack passes for $199 and $229.

Cancellation Policy:
A cancellation fee of $50 will be charged regardless of circumstances. You will be liable for any and all additional liquidation cost that the club incurs due to a cancellation after the deadline(s).

Base trip costs (lodging, transportation) are paid to the trip provider 50 days prior to departure . No refund will be available unless the trip captain can fill your spot.

Participants are encouraged to acquire travel insurance to cover unanticipated situations.
